About
Cissie Pryor founded Living Health Day Spa, where she serves as lead practitioner and carries out most of the treatments herself. She qualified as a registered nurse in 1981, and her more than 45 years of nursing include mental health and psychiatric work. She holds a massage therapy license and is a certified clinical hypnotherapist with 39 years in hypnotherapy practice. Her esthetics credentials include Repêchage Authorized Esthetician status, held since 1988 following training with Lydia Sarfati, and she is a certified roXiva RX1 light therapy provider. Her hypnosis education dates to the early 1980s and was taught by Theodore X. Barber and Dr. Paul D'Encarnacao. In 1988 she co-founded the Tennessee School of Massage with David Pryor, and she went on to found and run a state-approved massage school for more than 35 years. Her hypnotherapy sessions address anxiety, smoking cessation, weight loss and overeating, performance at work or in sport, everyday stress, past-life regression, chakra rebalancing and relaxation. She tailors each session to how a client thinks, their history and their goals, working with whatever the client brings instead of pushing for a trance. Sessions last 90 to 120 minutes and begin with a full history, and after a first visit a recommended plan is laid out. After a 2014 trip to Peru, where she studied sound healing with indigenous shamans and sound masters, she developed the Rainbow Balancing Chakrassage. She has worked as a sound healer since 2016, personally leads every GongSpell session, and assembled the spa's collection of more than 100 singing bowls. Her facial treatments concentrate on anti-aging and acne, and during a consultation she recommends a personalized facial schedule matched to skin type and concerns.
