Chrystoph Marten

Chrystoph Marten works as a hairstylist at the salon at 28 Ericsson Place. He trained at the Vidal Sassoon Academy and is classically trained. Earlier in his career he served as Editorial Director at Vidal Sassoon NYC, where he helped position the Sassoon brand as a competitor on the international fashion circuit.

His background includes runway and editorial work. He conceived a series of underground hair shows pairing hair design with music, fashion and imagery. The first three drew critical praise and led to collaborations with designers Zac Posen and Derek Lam. He has also styled hair at runway shows for numerous fashion designers.

At the salon he focuses on haircuts, color, highlights and defrizz treatments. He sees a haircut as a way to create a look rather than only cut hair. He has built a base of returning clients.
