Christian James

Christian is a hairstylist at Shade Studio in Scottsdale, Arizona, with more than 25 years of experience in hair. He holds an American Board of Certified Colorist credential from 2014 and a State of Arizona Educator's License from the same year.

His training started with a cosmetology license from Beau Monde School of Beauty in Portland, Oregon, in 2009. He later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of Phoenix. His career includes work as a Matrix educator from 2003, participation in the Energizing Summit from 2011 to 2013, and education roles with Compagne de Colore in 2013 and with ISSE (International Salon + Spa Expo) from 2017 to 2020. He has also appeared in TV spots on Sonoran Living in 2010, toured Europe with Zerran International in 2010, founded the Arizona Salon Professionals community, and is a member of the Professional Beauty Association. He is credited with the Dream in Color Collection, a 2020 competitive collection.

Honors include NAHA finalist placements in 2015 and 2017, a 2018 Southwest Hairstyling Awards finalist placement in haircolor, Hairstylist of the Year and men's categories, and second place in Scottsdale and in the World competition at Hair Wars in 2012.
