Michelle Hoang, who goes by chelle, is the owner and nail artist at shynebychelle, a nail art studio in the LA Arts District of downtown Los Angeles. She works by appointment and specializes in hand painting, airbrushing, sculpting and fine-line work. Before starting in nail art, she earned a double major in accounting and information systems at university, and afterward she chose nail art over those fields.

She later continued the work of a family member's nail salon after it closed, then set up her own independent studio. Her work has appeared in ELLE, L'Oréal Paris and Bustle. She takes time with each set rather than rushing, and she values relationships with clients, staying open to conversation during appointments or keeping things quiet when a client prefers.
