Carla Gentile

Carla Gentile is a stylist and co-owner of Harper Salon, a hair salon on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. She owned Steam Salon for 11 years, then took a short break before joining Harper.

She is credited with creating the Original Steam Treatment, a scalp and hair treatment, and with developing Steam Creams and Oils, an aromatherapy-based product line. The salon describes her as a master stylist, a curly hair expert and a hair anthropologist. She works with all hair types and consistencies.

Her philosophy of aging gracefully is offered as an alternative to anti-aging messaging. She has appeared in makeover television spots, styled editorials and led creative teams for designer fashion shows. She has a large following of clients of all ages and believes that being open-minded and willing to learn, at any age, matters in this industry.
