Carissa Mendoza

Carissa Mendoza is the owner and a stylist at Carissa Mendoza Hairdressing in Dallas. She started in the industry at 15, working front desk support at a salon in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Before entering the beauty industry she taught special education for three years and middle school math for one year in Texas, then left teaching to pursue a cosmetology license.

She trained at Florida State University and then apprenticed for several years, refining her cutting skills and seeking further education to build her coloring skills. In 2018 she helped open and manage a Dallas salon while working as an independent stylist. She later opened her own salon suite with former coworker Nina Briese, who is now her business partner.

Her work centers on cut and color adapted to each client's needs and lifestyle, and she offers the Hydrafacial Keravive scalp health treatment.
