Carissa

Carissa is the owner and massage and bodywork therapist behind In-Volve Bodywork, and she created the practice. She has been working in the field for over a decade and has a particular focus on abdominal therapy and visceral manipulation. Her work centers on women dealing with menstrual concerns, digestion, and chronic low back pain, and she also supports people living with autoimmune or chronic illnesses. She works with all types of clients.

Her training includes study with The Abdominal Therapy Collective and The Barral Institute, a massage therapy program at Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy completed in 2012, and structural integration training at the Soma Institute of Structural Integration completed in 2014. She has also trained in deep tissue, gua sha, cupping, hot stone, intra-oral massage, ScarWork, and Thai massage, and she holds license #18963.

She enjoys being part of a client's journey, which can stretch across months or years, and she keeps learning new skills, techniques, and approaches to the body.
