Cara Paymaster

Cara Paymaster is the owner of the studio and works there as a licensed esthetician. She has practiced esthetics since 2007, beginning with seven years at a St. Louis day spa before moving to San Diego in 2015. For roughly a decade she worked full time at a medical spa while also leading a non-profit serving young adults with cancer, which provided financial help and encouraged awareness of mental health. Through a partnership with PCA Skincare, she supplied oncology skincare kits free of charge to young adult cancer patients. Her training includes multicultural skin treatments taught by Joelle Lee, advanced scar revision and anti-aging work with Procell Therapies Microchanneling, and peel training from PCA Skin, Face Reality, Environ Skincare and Korean brands. She went to Paris to study Buccal Massage. She is a Level 1 trained Sculptural Face Lifting therapist, trained by Yakov Gershkovich, and holds a myofascial release massage certification, also known as Skin Rolling. Her certifications also include Acne from Face Reality and Acne Detectives from Canada. She treats all skin types and conditions. Across more than ten years she has studied what cancer patients need and trains her team in oncology-safe treatments. She was named San Diego Magazine's Best Esthetician 2026. For seven consecutive years, several publications, among them La Jolla Living and Dermascope, have nominated her for recognition.
