About
Burke E. Chegar practices as a facial plastic surgeon here. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wabash College and earned his medical degree at Indiana University. He then trained in New York, first in a general surgery internship and then in an Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery residency. He completed a sub-specialty fellowship in facial plastic surgery at Emory University School of Medicine in Georgia. He holds board certification from two bodies: the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. His practice spans cosmetic and reconstructive procedures across the head, neck and face. Facelifts are a particular focus, and he performs the deep plane technique, which lifts the deeper facial layers rather than simply tightening the skin above them. His facial rejuvenation work includes browlifts, necklifts, eyelid surgery, skin resurfacing and injectables. He also has reconstructive experience following trauma and in treating skin cancer. He prefers minimally invasive options with short recovery times. For rhinoplasty he generally uses an open approach in revision cases or when a procedure requires more precise or intricate steps. He placed third nationally on the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery examination. He also received the John Orlando Roe Award from the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, given for the best clinical research paper by a facial plastic surgery fellow.
