Brenda L. Pellicane

Brenda L. Pellicane, MD, FAAD, founded ICON Dermatology and Aesthetics, a direct pay practice offering both cosmetic and medical dermatology. She is a board-certified dermatologist whose specialties are cosmetic dermatology and cutaneous laser surgery. Her academic path started with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, completed summa cum laude on a full academic scholarship. She went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Her dermatology residency took place at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where she was chief resident and won several honors recognizing scholarly achievement. Afterward she held clinical research fellowships at the Center for Clinical Studies in Houston, Texas, and in the Department of Dermatology at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. She has written many manuscripts and textbook chapters on dermatology topics. She teaches the subject to groups ranging from high school students weighing a medical career to dermatology residents. She belongs to the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the Women's Dermatologic Society.
