About
Brandon Balderrama owns Liberated Salon, which he opened in 2015, and he also cuts hair there. He earned a cosmetology license in 2005 and moved that year to San Francisco, where he joined Edo Salon on Haight Street. He completed the salon's assistant program, sharpened his straight razor haircutting, and later worked there as a stylist and educator. He then trained at the Academy of Barbering Arts, earning a barbering license in 2010, and took haircutting classes at the Bumble and Bumble academy in New York. Later in 2010 he returned to Los Angeles and worked at Primrose Organics Salon on Hollywood Boulevard. His work has appeared on HBO productions, Food Network shows and upcoming Marvel comic films. His specialties include straight razor haircutting, detailed intricate cuts, bobs, pixies, men's cuts and transformation haircuts. His inspiration comes from pop culture and from styles spanning the 1920s to the 1960s.
