About
Beverly Fischer, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon who runs her own practice, where she does plastic and cosmetic surgery, including gender affirmation surgery. She has worked in plastic surgery for more than two decades. Her education started with a biology bachelor's degree, cum laude, from Gettysburg College. She went on to Albany Medical College for her Doctor of Medicine, where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. Next came six years of general surgery residency at George Washington University, where she was chief resident in her last year, and then a plastic surgery residency at Johns Hopkins University, where she became chief. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery (1992) and of the National Board of Medical Examiners (1986). She is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery, at Johns Hopkins University. She has presented at events including the Gender East Conference on plastic surgery topics. She has been a member of the American Society of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons since 2009 and of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health since 2011. In 1991 she was a finalist for the Harry B. Zehner, Jr. Memorial Fellowship Award. Baltimore Magazine named her one of Baltimore's best top plastic surgeons after her first year in private practice, and she is one of the top female plastic surgeons in the Baltimore area.
