About

Bethany has been styling hair in Portland for 25 years. Her background includes working in music venue and tour production, and she holds a degree in Public Health and Psychology. Clients often refer to her as a hair sculptor.

She created BäR, a handmade botanical hair and scalp product line described as organic, lightweight, absorbent and non-comedogenic, made with hand-distilled hydrosols and plant extracts. Her specialties include gray blending, blonding, vivid color, sun-kissed balayage and hair sculpting. She works with all hair textures and aims for low-maintenance styles and colors that last.

Bethany books by time block rather than by individual service, and gratuity is included in her pricing. A 30-minute block is $75 and covers bang trims, neck trims and consultations. A 45-minute block is $95 and covers short maintenance haircuts for clients who have gone no more than 6 weeks since their last cut with her, plus specialty bang trims. A one-hour block is $145 for maintenance haircuts and clipper or short cuts. A 1.5-hour block is $210 for new client haircuts, transformation cuts, extra-length or extra-density haircuts and root retouches. A 2-hour block is $280 for all-over color without blonding, partial highlights, root retouch with gloss, and haircuts for high-density or coily hair. A 2.5-hour block is $345 for partial highlight with base color, all-over color with haircut, and platinum retouch with no more than half an inch of regrowth. A 3-hour block is $410 for partial highlight with haircut and full highlight.
