About

Bess Dallal is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner at Human Nature Medicine, licensed in Oregon and California and nationally certified by the NCCAOM. She has spent more than 20 years in natural medicine practice and study, with work at a community clinic, IVF care for patients at UCSF and other fertility clinics, hospice work at Laguna Honda Rehabilitation Center, and a private practice focused on complex PTSD and autoimmune diagnosis. Specialties include pain management, mental health, chronic autoimmune illness, dermatological disease, terminal illness care and fertility. She has studied and practiced abdominal massage for 15 years. Her education includes a Master of Science from The Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences and a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with an individual concentration in healing through the scientific arts. She also completed Certified Advanced Functional Medicine Practitioner training with the Kharrazian Institute and the Kalish Institute, covering functional medicine coursework on gastrointestinal strategies, autoimmunity, diabetes and dysglycemia, Hashimoto's, and mood and anxiety disorders. Ongoing training covers classical herbalism with Sharon Weizenbaum and The White Pine Institute, Korean 4-Needle Technique in the Sa'am tradition with Toby Daly, and motor points and dry needling with Richard Hazel. She has also trained in Tao of Trauma with Alaine Duncan, in Microneedling for Acupuncturists, and in treating hair loss with microneedling and Chinese medicine. Yoga training includes Emodyoga and Shadow yoga. Her work is part of an integrative team across specialties, coordinating care and setting health goals patients can realistically maintain. She values a trusting, safe practitioner-patient relationship and clear roles that help patients take charge of their own health. She is currently repeating premedical courses toward nurse practitioner training.
