About
Beau James owns Beau James Hair and works as its color specialist from Studio #54. He has been crafting hair for two decades. Before the current salon, he was lead colorist and salon manager and educator at The Powder Room in Silverlake. He also co-founded the Sam Kelley salon in West Hollywood, which he has run for the past decade.
His training includes study at the Wella Color Academy, Vidal Sassoon, Bumble & Bumble and Redken, and he keeps up with newer trends and methods. He is certified in The Hair Shop's hand-tied extension method.
His color work centers on California coastal blonde, lived-in LA bronde and dimensional luxury color. His signature techniques are balayage, teasylights with babylights, and using the client's own color as a lowlight.
Plenty of clients book touch-ups just once every four to six months, not monthly.
