Basil Pakeman

Basil Pakeman serves as medical director of Manhattan Surgical Care, where he works as a cosmetic surgeon. He is board-certified as an ophthalmologist and is double board certified through the American Board of Ophthalmology and the Royal College of Surgeons (Canada). He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and a diplomate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He gives lectures internationally and has published scientific articles in major medical journals. He earned his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, then completed an internship at St. Vincent Hospital in New York City and an ophthalmology residency back at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Later training included a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital and an oculoplastic surgery externship at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. His practice centers on cosmetic oculofacial surgery, including eyelid lifts, surgery for drooping eyelids, Asian eyelid surgery, and LASIK and PRK. He also performs liposurgery, body sculpting and butt enhancement through fat transfer, including the Brazilian butt lift, along with facelifts and male facial and body procedures. He treats ptosis, strabismus and gynecomastia. He has treated patients from diverse ethnic backgrounds and has many years of experience in cosmetic surgery.
