Babak Hassid

Dr. Babak Hassid is an interventional cardiologist whose focus is cardiac stent procedures. He is Associate Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and also Associate Director of the Cardiology Fellowship Program. He is board certified in interventional cardiology and internal medicine, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.

He received his M.D. from SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2004. His postgraduate training includes an internal medicine residency at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, a cardiovascular disease fellowship at New York Medical College at St. Vincent's Hospital, and an interventional cardiology fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell Campus. His practice covers complex coronary intervention, chronic total occlusion angioplasty, endovascular intervention and cardiovascular disease more generally.

He is best known for transradial procedures, which go through the wrist instead of the groin. He is recognized as an expert in transradial and complex percutaneous coronary interventions. He has also worked as a primary investigator on several clinical trials of coronary artery disease treatments.
