Ashraf M. Hassanein

Dr. Ashraf M. Hassanein serves as Medical Director of the FloriDerm sites in The Villages and Clermont, where he also works as a Mohs surgeon. He holds MD and PhD degrees and the FACMS fellowship designation, and he graduated from the University of Cairo School of Medicine. His postgraduate path included a dermatology residency alongside a PhD program focused on immunohistochemistry of adnexal skin neoplasms, residencies in anatomic and clinical pathology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, dermatopathology fellowship training at Hahnemann University School of Medicine, and a Mohs skin surgery fellowship at the Center for Dermatology and Skin Surgery in Tampa. He is board certified in dermatology, anatomic and clinical pathology, and dermatopathology. He has also held an appointment as a clinical associate professor with the University of Florida College of Medicine, spanning pathology and dermatology. He founded and directed a dermatopathology fellowship training program, and he has published widely in dermatology and dermatopathology.
