About
Ashley Lonergan, MD is a fellowship-trained facial plastic surgeon in Boston whose practice centers on facelifts, rhinoplasty and hair restoration. Surgical work includes open rhinoplasty, and the practice also handles hair transplant planning and non-surgical facial rejuvenation. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of New Hampshire and her medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine, then finished a five-year otolaryngology, head and neck surgery residency at the University of California, Irvine. A one-year fellowship at The Williams Center for Plastic Surgery, run through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, was carried out under Dr. Edwin Williams and Dr. Keimun Slaughter. Half of that year went exclusively to hair transplant surgery, and the rest of the program covered surgical and non-surgical facial rejuvenation along with hair restoration. Before returning to Boston to practice, she trained in several regions of the country, including California and New York. She practices at the Boston Center for Plastic Surgery and is affiliated with Northeast Hair Restoration. Her published work covers rhinoplasty, nasal obstruction and complex reconstruction, and she has presented research at AAFPRS and Combined Otolaryngology Spring Meetings. She has received research grants from the New England Otolaryngological Society and Tufts University, and a second-place scientific poster award at a national AAFPRS meeting. Plans for hair restoration start from how the hairline fits with the forehead's shape and the face's proportions. When a less invasive option meets a patient's goals, she may recommend it over a full surgical transplant, and she walks through the tradeoffs of each. Building personal connections with patients is a priority for her.
