Ashanta Morris

Ashanta Morris owns Ashanta Artistry and works as a hair stylist and makeup artist on location across the Los Angeles area. She has over 15 years of professional experience, including 14 years of headshot work. Her career began freelancing on weddings, pageants and special events, and she moved to Los Angeles in 2012.

She attended cosmetology school. Her specialties include bridal, headshot, red carpet, television, film and print hair and makeup. She has worked behind the scenes for over 15 years and has served as art director on many shoots. She has also taken local hire work in Dallas, Texas, Atlanta, Georgia and Las Vegas, Nevada, and is comfortable in fast-paced crew environments, adjusting to each production's style and needs.

Clients can book weddings, red carpet events, headshot sessions and photoshoots across Los Angeles. She creates looks for all ethnicities, ages, skin tones and hair textures, and brings a calm, positive approach to bridal clients, shaping each look around the client's taste. She also teaches hair and makeup lessons, online or in person, adapted to whether a student learns by watching or by doing. She offers photography only selectively, for shoots that fit her vision and the client, and treats hair and makeup as her primary work.
