Arthur Yu, MD, PHD

Arthur Yu, MD, PHD is the founder and surgeon-director of Premier Cosmetic Surgery & Medspa in Arcadia. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He has been an attending plastic surgeon at Garfield Medical Center in Monterey Park since August 2006. He holds a current physician and surgeon license in New York, and earlier held licenses in Minnesota (July 1999 to July 2020) and California (July 2004 to July 2006).

His training includes a plastic surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, where he has also served as a visiting professor, a head and neck surgery fellowship at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and a general surgery residency at Cornell University Brooklyn Hospital Center. He earned a medical degree from Shanghai Medical University School of Medicine and a PhD in Pathobiology from the University of Southern California, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in biochemistry and molecular pharmacology at UCLA. He has more than 19 years of plastic surgery experience and is regularly invited to speak at medical meetings, with 12 conference presentations and lectures. He co-authored a paper on the PDO thread facelift published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

His practice focuses on Asian plastic surgery, facial plastic surgery, body contouring, breast surgery, and non-surgical nasal and thread treatments. He developed Art TipLyft, Restoration Liposuction and the Relay PDO Thread Facelift, and is a nationally recognized authority on PDO thread facelift procedures. He received a Maverick Award in 2024 at AMWC for PDO facelift and contouring, first place at AMWC Monaco in 2023 for a PDO thread facelift, and awards at the same 2023 conference for Best Threads Treatment and Top 3 Best Surgery Body Shaping. He performs BOTOX injections, marks injection sites on the day of an Art TipLyft treatment, and treats men, women and patients of all races and ethnicities for nose treatments. For PDO thread lifts and Onda Pro he assesses concerns and medical history at consultation, then builds a personalized plan or selects the handpiece and approach.
