About
April Shea owns Shea Clinical Skin Care, where she works as the clinical esthetician. She is a board-certified clinical aesthetician. She obtained her esthetician license and completed six months of esthetician school, then took an advanced course following graduation.
Earlier, she ran a business with her mother and later worked for a group of dermatologists. She also worked as an independent contractor in a plastic surgeon's office, where she observed surgeries, and received one-on-one mentoring through partnerships with dermatologists and a plastic surgeon.
She treats a range of concerns, among them inflammatory and follicle-related skin issues such as folliculitis, dermatitis, cysts, eczema, psoriasis and rosacea, pigment problems like hyperpigmentation and melasma, acne, keratosis pilaris, and age-related changes. Her assessment follows a structured method, and she develops an individual plan during the first consultation. She also teaches other estheticians mechanical and chemical skin-resurfacing techniques and keeps current through classes and refresher courses. Her expertise includes the chemistry of medical-grade and home-care skin products.
