April Bancarotta

April Bancarotta owns Awaken Aesthetics by April, where she works as a licensed master esthetician with 19 years of experience in skincare. Her healthcare background started on the medical side: for more than ten years she was a medical assistant in the cardiology department at Lahey Clinic Hospital. She has also worked with plastic surgeons and medical spas. Her education includes graduating from The Elizabeth Grady School of Esthetics and Make-Up Artistry and completing the Master Esthetics Program at Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics, which focused on acne, rosacea, skin disorders, aging skin and advanced protocols. She also studied ingredient science and skincare formulations at the Aveda Institute in Soho, New York, and has studied Ayurvedic medicine. She is an active member of the HydraFacial Community of Education and Training and teaches advanced aesthetics as an instructor at Stonhart Academy in Woburn, Massachusetts. Her practice is built around skin health, pairing results-focused treatments with a clinical grasp of the skin. She believes each client deserves a thorough discussion of their plan and an understanding of their skin condition, its possible causes and the options available. She belongs to the Associated Skin Care Professionals, the Aesthetic International Association and the National Coalition of Estheticians Association, and she commits to ongoing continuing education.
