Anya Martin

Anya Martin is an Artist and Cut Artist at Nova Arts Salon in downtown Los Angeles. She started in salon operations in Charleston, South Carolina, at sixteen, which was the beginning of her time in the industry. After finishing cosmetology education in 2022, she relocated to Los Angeles and came on at the salon, where she completed a two-year apprenticeship under Sal Salcedo. Cutting is the core of her practice: she shapes hair so it wears well, works with the texture it naturally has, and builds transformations alongside each client. She tends to be drawn to clients who are comfortable with what sets them apart and who like ongoing self-discovery. Her aim is for each person to look like themselves in a way that feels easy and distinctive.
