Andrew Trussler

Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Trussler runs Andrew Trussler, MD in Austin's Westlake area. He holds Certified Plastic Surgery credentials from the American Board of Plastic Surgery and Certified General Surgery credentials from the American Board of Surgery, and he opened his practice in 2007. He earned an undergraduate degree in exercise physiology from the University of Southern California, graduating cum laude, and then a medical degree summa cum laude from USC's Keck School of Medicine as a Dean's Scholar. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. His training includes a general surgery residency at the University of Michigan, plastic surgery training at UCLA, and a one-year aesthetic surgery fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. From 2007 to 2012 he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery, where he ran the cosmetic residency and fellowship programs and co-led the abdominal wall reconstruction program. His clinical work spans facial rejuvenation and nose reshaping, breast and body contouring such as tummy tucks and ultrasound-assisted liposuction, and reconstruction following major weight loss, as well as breast, lower limb and abdominal wall reconstruction. At the Austin office he oversees skin care and carries out all injectable and skin resurfacing treatments. He has lectured internationally on cosmetic surgery and has written numerous journal articles and book chapters. He received a 2023 Aesthetic Surgery Journal reviewer certificate from Oxford University Press, was featured in the Consumer's Research Council's Guide to America's Top Surgeons, and was included in Marquis' Who's Who in the United States for 2012. He belongs to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Austin Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association and the Travis County Medical Society.
