Andrew Schmitz

Andrew Schmitz is the owner stylist at Hair by Andrew Schmitz, also known as Salon Andrew, in Minneapolis. He trained as a cosmetologist at Mankato School of Cosmetology. His certifications cover Cinderella Hair Extensions and other extension brands, relaxer application and care, keratin smoothing, airbrush tanning, and braiding textured hair.

His work spans hair design, creative design and consultation, and he works with women experiencing hair loss. He has put together a fashion show for Regis Salon and taken part in the Heartland Beauty Expo. He was a finalist on the reality series Sheer Genius and appeared on WE TV's Bridzilla.

On film and media projects, he worked on the indie film Lumpy, took part in Regis Corporation training videos, and styled hair for photographers and celebrity makeup artists. Further credits include the Joan Rivers fashion show at the Mall of America and a Minnesota Lynx fundraising fashion show. He coordinates and carries out weddings and red carpet events, and has sponsored the Ms. Minnesota Pageant while contributing to the International Pageant System.

His honors include first place in the Overall Style hair and make-up category at a hair competition, plus a 2011 sponsor recognition from Future Production tied to the Ms MN Teen and Ms MN USA pageants.
