Alyson Wells

Alyson Wells founded Valley Plastic Surgery & Medi-Spa and has served as its owner and medical director since 2007. She is a board-certified plastic surgeon and a board-certified otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon, with MD and FACS credentials. She leads the Division of Plastic Surgery at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where she is the first woman appointed a division chief within the Department of Surgery. She holds part-time assistant professor appointments in plastic and reconstructive surgery and in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, serves as a teaching physician, and holds privileges at GBMC, University of Maryland-St. Joseph Medical Center and Johns Hopkins. Her training began with a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Tennessee in 1991, completed with highest honors on a full-tuition academic merit scholarship. She earned her M.D. from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 1996, graduated in the top 10% of her class nationally, and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. Surgical training followed at Johns Hopkins, with a surgical internship in 1996 to 1997 and an otolaryngology residency from 1997 to 2001, where she received the Outstanding Chief Resident and Teaching Award in 2000 to 2001. She completed plastic and reconstructive surgery training at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital from 2001 to 2003, then worked at Advanced Center for Plastic Surgery from 2003 to 2007. Her work spans facial cosmetic and facial reconstructive surgery, and she applies her expertise across all areas of body contouring. Most of her plastic surgery procedures are performed at the on-site surgery center. She has published research papers in facial plastic surgery, organ transplantation and cancer. She treats both women and men for Botox, and men commonly request it. She has been named a Top Doctor by Baltimore Magazine and GBMC.
