Allen Lawrence

He is president and owner of Advanced Wellness Medical in Los Angeles, a post he has held since 2018, and has been medical director at Nature Medical Spa in Garden Grove since June 2023. Since July 2023 he has also worked as supervising physician assistant at the USHealthClinics General Medical Clinic in Van Nuys. Since 1992 he has offered medical business and program development consulting through ALLCO Medical Consultants. Earlier positions include physician at Tarzana Treatment Center from 2021 to 2023, where he oversaw nurse practitioners and physician assistants, and practice development and medical staffing at Urgent Point Medical Group from 2018 to 2021. From 2015 to 2020 he was a functional and integrative medicine physician and owner at 911-BioCare. He worked part time and as a locum tenens physician at Preventive Medicine Clinics of the Desert from 2001 to 2007, and from 1984 to 2007 he was associate medical director and physician at LaVida IPA and LaVida Multi-Specialty Medical Centers. Between 1973 and 1984 he practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Beverly Hills. In the US Air Force he held the rank of Captain and served as medical unit commander, with service in Guam. His training includes a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from UCLA and a Medical Degree from UC Irvine School of Medicine. He completed a rotating medicine internship at USC Los Angeles County General Hospital and an obstetrics and gynecology residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center from 1970 to 1973. He also holds a master's degree in nutrition and a Ph.D. in psychology, both from the Pacific Institute for Advanced Studies. He is credited with more than 23 books and 45 self-help programs and patient-education presentations, written alone or with co-authors.
