Allan Van Johnson

Allan Van Johnson works at LocLov as a Master Colorist, Licensed Cosmetologist, Loctician, Certified Sisterlocks Consultant and Microlocs Specialist. He received his traditional hair locking certification in 2000 from Ona Osirio-Maat and Malaika Cooper, and his Sisterlocks certification in 2004 from Dr. JoAnne Cornwell. He became a Licensed Cosmetologist in 2009 and has held the Certified Master Colorist title since 2014. His training draws on the methods of Beth Minardi, Michael Canale and Tracey Cunningham.

He handles color formulation and application, foil highlights, balayage, corrective color and gray blending, working with both bold, creative shades and low-maintenance looks. He also shows clients how to look after color-treated hair. On the locs side, he does palm rolling, interlocking, retightening and cutting for locs, Sisterlocks, Brotherlocks and Microlocs.
