About
Alexandra Braunstein, MD is an oculofacial plastic surgeon who sees patients in the Morristown area of New Jersey. She is board-certified in ophthalmology, holds a diplomate from the American Board of Ophthalmology, is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and belongs to the New York Oculoplastic Society. She serves as Section Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology at Overlook Medical Center.
She earned an undergraduate degree with honors at Georgetown University and went on to medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Her ophthalmology residency was completed at Columbia University Harkness Eye Institute at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She then spent two years in a fellowship focused on orbital, ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery, held jointly by the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children's Hospital. She is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia University, where she teaches resident ophthalmologists. Her published work includes numerous articles and book chapters, and she has presented research in the United States and internationally.
Her practice covers cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, the nearby facial structures, the tear drainage system and the eye socket, for both adults and children. She performs hundreds of eyelid surgeries each year and is a highly skilled ophthalmologist. She also consults with patients who are unhappy with the results of earlier cosmetic surgery, and offers non-surgical options such as Botox and facial and neck lift treatments.
