Alexander H. Sun, MD MHS

Alexander H. Sun, MD MHS practices as a plastic surgeon at New You Plastic Surgery. He finished a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital between 2018 and 2025, serving as administrative chief resident in 2024 and 2025. From 2020 to 2021 he worked as a Senior Staff Fellow (Medical Officer) in the FDA's Office of Surgical and Infection Control Devices, covering plastic surgery devices, and he helped coordinate the FDA panel on dermal fillers held in March 2021. His research spans clinical work in plastic surgery and surgical oncology, along with laboratory projects in heart and cartilage tissue engineering and in engineering T cells. During residency he completed aesthetic surgery electives in the United States and overseas, seeing facial and body procedures as well as rhinoplasty. He has been Chief Service Officer for a global health nonprofit. He earned his MD and MHS at Yale School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, cum laude, from Duke University's Pratt School of Engineering.
