Alexa Toohey

Alexa Toohey works as a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner at NoBe. Her credentials are an MSN and FNP-C, and she is a board-certified nurse practitioner. Her nursing career started in 2012 at Georgetown University Hospital, where she worked six years as a clinical nurse in the post-anesthesia care unit before turning to dermatology. She has worked as a nurse practitioner since 2018. Earlier dermatology experience includes time with a large private practice dermatology group, Anne Arundel Dermatology, and the Johns Hopkins Dermatology clinic.

Her appointments cover general dermatology, neurotoxin wrinkle treatments and follow-up visits. Areas she focuses on include full-body skin checks, assessment and biopsy of worrying lesions, acne, rosacea, everyday skin conditions, hair loss consultations, individualized skincare and cosmetic dermatology. She has more than 10 years of dermatology experience.

She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from The Catholic University of America, where she graduated magna cum laude, and a BSN from James Madison University. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and received the Dean's Award for academic excellence.
