Adam J. Cohen, MD

Adam J. Cohen, MD, is an eyelid and facial plastic surgeon who runs a private practice and owns The Aesthetic Lounge. He is approved to operate at Rush University Medical Center, where he is Section Director of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and at NorthShore University Health System, where he is an Attending Physician. He teaches residents in person at both hospitals. With more than 20 years in medicine and decades of facial plastic surgery work in Chicago, he has performed thousands of cosmetic and corrective operations.

He studied as an undergraduate at Brooklyn College and trained at Albany Medical College for medical school. Next came internal medicine training at Staten Island University Hospital, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, New York, where he also trained in oculoplastic orbital surgery and near-ophthalmology. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has written two textbooks and published more than 50 academic articles on facial and eye surgery.

His practice focuses on restoring both appearance and function in the face and eyes. Surgical work includes eyelid procedures for drooping lids and for eyelids that turn in or out, reconstruction of the face after injuries, and removal of skin cancers from the skin. Cosmetic surgery covers brow lifts, eyelid lifts, cheek lifts and cheek implants. Patients who are not candidates for surgery, or who would rather avoid it, can consider injectables and fillers, including minor Botox treatments.
