Adam Basner

Adam Basner is a board-certified plastic surgeon and chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Sinai Hospital, and he also practices at this office in Lutherville-Timonium. He has been performing plastic surgery for nearly two decades. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is also a member of Mentor's Preferred Physicians Program.

He trained at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, completing a general surgery residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York from 1989 to 1994 and a plastic surgery fellowship at New York University Medical Center from 1994 to 1996. Early in his career he trained in cosmetic surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital, studying under Sherrell J. Aston, MD and Daniel C. Baker, MD. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania, earned summa cum laude. He has received honors including Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Omega Alpha, the David F. Maxwell Award and the Allen O. Whipple Award for Surgical Excellence. He has held teaching appointments at Johns Hopkins Hospital's Division of Plastic Surgery and the National Institute of Health Surgery Branch, and he continues to teach and train surgical residents at Johns Hopkins. He was also a featured plastic surgeon on the ABC series Dramatic Makeover. Memberships include the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, the John Staige Davis Plastic Surgery Society and the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of the State of Maryland.

His work centers on breast augmentation, lift, reduction, revision and gynecomastia procedures, and on body contouring such as tummy tuck, liposuction and lower body lift. He also performs rhinoplasty, including procedures that combine septoplasty with nasal reconstruction for breathing problems, as well as facelift surgery and breast reconstruction after mastectomy. His injectable work includes Botox for glabellar lines, crow's feet, smoker's lines and horizontal forehead lines, plus lip flip treatment. Patients from across the region, including Baltimore and Columbia, are served.
